⚖️ Volunteer Legal Assistant (Graduate/SQE-Level) – Apply Your Legal Knowledge to Real-World Impact

Eligibility: Final-year postgraduate law students, SQE1/SQE2 pass-holders, or GDL/LPC/Bar Course graduates
🛡️ About Fighting Injustice
FightingInjustice.org.uk is a non-profit legal advocacy campaign led by activist and legal strategist Amar Lodhia, known for challenging injustice in housing, criminal appeals, data protection, defamation, and animal welfare. Our cases have been featured on BBC News, Sky News, ITV, and The Guardian.
We are actively involved in First-tier Tribunal, County Court, High Court, and Upper Tribunal litigation – and now invite aspiring lawyers to gain hands-on experience while making a genuine social impact.
🎓 Who This Is For
This opportunity is ideal for:
Final-year postgraduate law students (MA Law, LLM, PGDL, etc.)
Graduates who have passed SQE1 and SQE2, or equivalent (e.g. LPC, Bar Course)
Individuals preparing for qualification who want to build their legal skills and CV through meaningful casework and legal writing
💼 What You’ll Do
As a Volunteer Legal Assistant, you will work closely with our legal team on live case files. Tasks may include:
Drafting witness statements, legal submissions, and pre-action correspondence
Legal research (statute, case law, procedural rules) to support litigation strategy
Preparing hearing bundles and reviewing/responding to evidence
Assisting with client interviews, instructions, and advisory notes
Helping to build legal arguments in defamation, housing, data protection, and criminal appeal claims
Supporting public interest campaigns by turning complex legal issues into accessible summaries
🧩 What We’re Looking For
A strong legal academic background and demonstrable understanding of litigation principles
Genuine interest in access to justice, public interest law, or campaign-based litigation
Excellent research, drafting, and communication skills
High level of integrity and discretion (you’ll be handling sensitive material)
Commitment to at least 3 months of engagement (flexible around exams/work)
